My wife and I have lived in Bladon since 1981, and all six of our children attended Bladon Primary School. I have been a governor for more than 20 years, and chairman for the majority of that time. I am a member of the Finance Sub-Committee, and work for the NHS in IT.


Bob Taylor - Co-opted Governor - Vice Chair of Governors
Membership - Cherry Class, Finance, Premises & Performance Mgt Leader Committees

I live in Kidlington and became a community governor in 1999 and Vice-Chairman in 2004. I serve on three committees - Finance; Performance Management; Premises. A retired Chartered Mechanical Engineer I worked in the car industry on the development of new models and bringing them into production. I am a founder member of Woodstock & Kidlington Rotary Club and in my spare time I am either on my allotment, on the golf course or spending time with our grand-children here and in Canada. On behalf of the school I manage the major projects for improving the premises & grounds and spent many "happy hours" helping to create the Foundation Classroom.


Penny Anson – Co-opted Governor

We moved to Bladon in 2006 when both our children joined the school.  I became a Parent Governor in 2007 and continued as a Community Governor in 2011 after they had left.  I am a member of the Curriculum sub-committee and the designated Safeguarding Governor. Before moving I worked as a solicitor for 21 years.



Kathryn Courts – Foundation (Diocese) Governor

My husband and I moved to Bladon in 2010 and quickly became involved in various aspects of community life. I am currently the Chairman of the Bladon Gardens Society and also help organise messy church and other village events. I work as a music therapist with children with special needs and elderly clients with dementia, and I also play the cello with the Woodstock Music Society.


Julie French – Clerk Governor

I was in banking for 24 years. I work four days a week as the Administrator and Bursar at Bladon Primary School. I took over the role as Clerk to the Governor's in December 2009.


Stuart Kemp – Church Foundation Governor

I started as a Parent Governor in 1997.  When my boys left school I became a Church Foundation Governor. I'm now a transport manager for a solid fuel distributor/importer after 25 years working with Ordnance Survey mapping at Blackwells Bookshop in Oxford.  I have also been a Scout Leader in Kidlington since 1988. My Governor responsibilities include Health and Safety (Safeguarding staff and pupils) and Maintenance.


Clare Gadsby - Parent Governor

My name is Claire Gadsby and I am a parent governor. My daughter Poppy is in year 1 and thoroughly enjoying life at Bladon School. We are relatively new to Bladon having moved here from Oxford in 2014 but we love being part of such a vibrant school  and village community.

Professionally, I work as an educational trainer and author supporting more than a hundred schools each year. This has given me an interesting perspective which I hope may be useful to me in my role as a governor.


Jane Bott - Reception year teacher
I have been a teacher for 7 years and love my job. Having worked at Bladon for 3 years I am currently the Cherry (Reception)Class teacher and also the Staff Governor. I have two teenage boys and I was a parent governor at their Primary school so have 4 years experience as a Governor at another school.
I am a member of the curriculum sub committee.
