Our Resilience Mission Statement:

Working together to build resilient minds for overcoming adversity, lifelong learning and enduring friendships

Our ultimate ambition for the children in our care is to nurture their personal qualities, which will enable them to flourish and continue to grow during the next stage of their education journey and beyond. The importance of resilience in children’s growth as learners and as people cannot be overestimated. Possessing resilience provides a secure foundation when seeking out and engaging with new challenges, learning as they do. Developing these qualities in our children will also have a positive impact on their experience of primary school life, as learners, as classmates, as friends and as positive contributors to school life and the wider community.

With this in mind, we are delighted to be working towards achieving the Pupil Resilience School Impact Award (Silver) which is designed to recognise our work as a school community to foster resilience in our children. Initially, we are focusing on 4 strands but there is scope for focusing on further areas and achieving a Gold award. The current strands we are focusing on are:

  • Promoting resilience through the school ethos and culture

  • Embedding the language of resilience across the school

  • Promoting digital resilience

  • Encouraging a growth mindset approach
